Why I Created Parent with Purpose

Over my 25 years career as a pediatrician, I have had the privilege of caring for thousands of children and supporting their parents through every stage of development.  Again and again, I noticed something important- most parents are not struggling because they lack information. They are struggling because parenting happens in the midst of busy lives, stress, competing responsibilities, and the quiet pressure to “do it all well.”

Many parents deeply want to be present with their children, to respond thoughtfully rather than react out of frustration, and to raise their children with intention. Yet they often feel overwhelmed, guilty about not having enough time, or uncertain whether they are doing enough.

Alongside my medical practice, my work in mindfulness and coaching has shown me that the most powerful shifts in parenting often begin with awareness and presence. When parents learn to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their values, their relationship with their children — and with themselves — begins to change.

I created Parent with Purpose to offer parents a small, supportive space to slow down, reflect on their parenting, and cultivate the presence and intention that help families thrive.

This program is especially helpful for parents of school-age children and teens who want to be more present and intentional in how they respond to the everyday challenges of parenting.
